Just ran through my wireless settings and it now estimates your download and upload speed! Dunno if it's the same for a wired connection?

Maybe people can post their results here for a comparison? I'm disappointed with my NTL speeds lately but, more disappointed with the speeds I'm getting on the PS3!

    NTL
    20 Mbps

    Laptop Wireless: (Speedtest.net)
    Download 12.89 Mbps
    Upload 0.64 Mbps

    PS3 Wireless:
    Download 2.9 Mbps
    Upload 0.5265 Mbps

Your test is a bit bogus TBH.

How far is the PS3 from the router?
How far is the laptop from the router?
    Testing both beside each other?
What signal strength do you get on the PS3?
PS3 anywhere near a cordless phone or base station?
Checked for wireless interference with NetStumber?

PS3 is closer to the router than the laptop!

Just re-tested and it jumped up to 4.7 Mbps, which is still crap.

PS says signal strength 100% and I don't have a cordless phone and no base station anywhere near it!

Not sure what your last suggestion means.

    What's your results?

EDIT: Oooh 7.4 Mbps...far too inconsistent!
