Can honestly say Ive never even heard of them.

EDIT: To be honest it looks like a poor mans trailer park boys. Dont think Dubs would get this at all.

What are you talking about? I don't know a single person who hasn't loved Hardy Bucks and I'm from Dublin. Although you can probably appreciate it more if you've spent and longer than a couple of weeks outside of Dublin.

I think it's pretty quality alright.

Actually I have spent many summers down the country, I have no idea why your taking a digg at me over that? Bit wierd but I spent most of my summers in cork, donegaul or kerry so dont even bother with that.

I dont mind if lots of people like but I am just saying that before this thread I had never even heard of them and after watching videos on youtube it seems like a load of bull and they are tryin to be like Trailor park boys, which is only partially funny, but in an Irish tv ripping off the rest of the world kind of way it makes it even worse.

I just dont get it, maybe there are many people who do get it but we were asked to voice our opinions and I am doing so.

Never lived anywhere but Dublin and know plenty of Dubs who don't get/like/understand Hardy Bucks. Frankly, I'm sick of every single thread that mentions them turning into some ridiculous scrap on boards. It's an internet tv show folks, get over it.

Stick to the topic at hand.

How exactly is my post not sticking to the topic at hand?

TBH, I'm just sick of every irish comedian or comedy group spinning out the same old tired clichés in humour. C'mon, the culchie thing has been done to death. But then again, RTE seems to find one thing that works and repeat it ad nauseum, for fear of actually letting something slightly new or risque get an airing!

The question is whether or not DIT students want Hardy Bucks to perform in the college, not whether or not people have spent time outside Dublin enough to enjoy comedy from "the country".

Eh, that's the direction the discussion in this thread went in. Someone said that it's region specific humor and I counter argued his point. How is discussing whether or not the majority of Dublin folk get the humor in Hardy Bucks not relevant to a thread discussing whether its a good idea or not to bring this type of humor to a largely Dublin audience?

    Please quit over-moderating.

Yours is the first comment directed at a person, because they said they're not sure if Dubs would "get" the humour. You didn't add to the discussion, you blazed in at a user, directly. Said user replied, and so did I, telling you to tone it down and stick to the topic - not turning it into a debate about Dublin vs. Country. You took the thread there, no one else. I asked you to curtail it so the question the OP asked could be answered.

The discussion is available 1 page, previously, if you don't believe me.

Nobody is turning it in to a debate about Dublin vs Country. We were discussing whether the Humor in Hardy Bucks would be wasted on a larger Dublin audience. I wasn't blazing at anyone either. Jesus.
