You can always require them to re-evaluate the tax based on, that the market value for the car isn't the value they have and re-assess the car, but it might go the other way (up), too.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Stupid OMSP

If you're serious about getting the car, get a written (email) quote from the VRO. Great combo, the E39 with the V8 M62 and the steptronic box

Have you seen any similiar models on sale in Ireland. If so, how much can they be bought for,as distinct from the asking price?

I reckon, sest of my pants guess sub 10 k.
99 cars will be 2 decades old in a feW WEEKS.

i had one of these, an earlier model some years ago, . After pinning my, self to the seat a dozen times, such was the acceleretion, to get the feel of it, I came to the conclusion that such an engine was not really necessary...

    regards,Rugbyman

    Seriously?

So how old does it need to be to get classic insurance & tax? Can we round that up too?
Can an 11 year old buy beer because he's two decades old?

Not to derail the thread, but... c'mon!!

Classic TAx = 30 years old
Classic Insurance depends on the Insurance Company...shop around and you'll get it at 20 years old with restrictions to mileage and usage (ie second car)...you will get it before 20 years old perhaps on an exotic...

I thought the original quote you get off the website is good for a month, no matter what other quotes you get from the Revenue ?

You think things are bad now? You ain't seen nothing yet!!! Carbon tax and a new EU tax that we were all promised wouldn't come in is coming too.

So it's back to the 80's for us in Ireland from a car point of view then due to costs.

More like 1880's, there's no money and lots more taxes, this government should be held liable for this mess, two years of didering and nothing done....

If you are reffering to Herman Van Rompuy then it doesn't really matter.

The EU have no competencies in the tax affairs of each individual member state and won't have any until yet another EU Treaty is signed to say that they do.
