Paranormal Activity

Anyone hear of this film yet?

    Basic plot premise (from IMDB):
After a young, middle class couple moves into a suburban 'starter' tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.

Think indie, hand-held camera, shoestring budget and everything else The Blair Witch Project was famous for with a bit of Exorcist and Poltergeist thrown in for good measure.

There's a fair bit of hype surrounding it (rumour is Stephen Spielberg was "so afraid" he had to stop watching halfway through ).

Seems to be a fair divide on net too whether it's actually any good or not.

However, I will admit the trailer does look... interesting.

edit: didn't realize there was a thread on this, feel free to merge

This so called movie should have been called lack of activity.

There is very little happening in it,the simple truth is that what you see in that trailer are 4 very short lived parts that are the actual highlights of the "movie"
It does have a slight entrainment value, but you will end up disappointed.

Possibly the most misleading "movie" trailer ever made

Saw this film the other night. Think its one of the best movies of the year. Its great going to the cinema and not sit through instantly forgettable CGI tripe.

There are two versions of this flick and the one in the cinema is way better. This is the ending that Stephan Spielberg rewrote and they all got together for the reshoot. Its a much better ending.

Though overall I found the movie to be dissatisfying. I dont mind a slow build up to the tension or the reveal but there was none in this flick. talking during the day about "scary stuff" that happened during the night...then a whole lot of night shots where nothing was happening.
But that bit when she got dragged out of the bed was freaky
the rest of ti was meh.
