Changing DC powerjack on laptop

    anybody got any ideas as to if you can change the DC powerjack inside a dell laptop, i broke mine and the guys in the shop are charging 150 euro to fix it.

    150 euro is about right. Unless youre handy with a Soldering Iron and own a Soldering Iron and Soldering Equipment, I'd consider coughing it up. Its not like a laptop screen - there you just need a tiny screwdriver and steady hands.

    Other than that, get several different estimates from several vendors before letting one mark you for a sucker and charge you a little more GP than most walk-ins.

    As OverHeal said, unless you're somewhat handy with a Soldering Iron and are confident about dismantiling your laptop I'd shop around for the best deal.

    A lot of places can screw you.
