ACA in Australia

Does anyone know what the story is with operating as an ACA in Australia? does the Irish qualification entitle you to work in Oz?

Presumably you will have to complete a crossover exam in Australian Tax & possibly law. Does this have to be sat before you can start work? if not how long do you have to pass this?

Thanks in advance for all helpful replies.

For entry purposes you need a degree and, say, ACA. If you want to work in practice you'll need to get the local exams - probably company and tax law.

For more information, follow this link to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia website.

As an alternative to the ICAA, you could also consider CPA Australia, which grants associate membership to members of certain professional accountancy bodies - follow this link.
