    Disruption to Cork services

    Due to weather conditions, there is severe disruption to services in Cork city, suburban areas and in West Cork. Please contact local travel centres for further details. In the city, the no 5, 8, 10, and no 14 services are being re-routed so will be significantly delayed.

    Disruption to Galway-Dublin services

    Because of road closures, Bus Eireann regrets that it has to cancel all inter-city services from Galway to Dublin today.

    All Dublin-Galway services today will terminate in Athlone. Services will resume as normal when the appropriate roads re-open.

    Bus transfers are currently in operation between Carrick-on-Shannon and Longford on the Sligo-Dublin line, due to flooding on the line.

    This section of the line will remain closed until further notice. This website will be updated as further details become available.

    The Ballinalsoe to Athlone rail line is closed due to flooding.

    Galway/Dublin services will operate with bus transfers between Galway and Athlone as a result.

    Local trains will operate from Galway to Athenry/Woodlawn. However, customers travelling to and from stations between Athlone and Dublin should avail of the bus transfers detailed above.

    These arrangements will continue until Sunday morning 22nd November at the earliest. Further details will be updated on this website.

    Galway-Dublin Service Resumes

    Bus Eireann can confirm that Galway-Dublin services have resumed this morning via the M6.

    Services are currently running to the normal timetable (ie leaving Galway on the half hour every hour). Services will operate via Ballinasloe and Loughrea. Customers in Oranmore are being provided with a shuttle bus service into Galway to connect with the service. Customers are advised that there will be some delays on the service due to weather and speed limit restrictions on M6.

    Services from Dublin to Galway are operating to normal timetable – every hour on the hour.

    Disruption to Services in Cork

    In Cork, the west of the city is still badly flooded so the no 8 (St Patrick St to Bishoptown) is diverted and will experience delays.

    The following services have been cancelled at the moment due to road conditions:

    234 Cork-Stuake

    235 Cork-Rylane

    255 Macroom-Kilcrohane via Bantry

    All Expressway (inter-city) services from Cork and all other Cork-based services are operating, but with some delays.

    UPDATE Arklow to Gorey line closed; bus transfers operating by Corporate Communications

    UPDATE 22nd November 2009 - 10.15hrs

    The line between Wicklow and Arklow has reopened, following a landslide on Monday 16th November.

    However, the line between Arklow and Gorey remains closed, as work to stabilise an embankment at the railway line south of Arklow continues.

    It is estimated that the line will remain closed until Monday 30th November, while the embankment is strengthened.

    Updated service arrangements, including details of bus transfers are detailed below for today Sunday 22nd November. Service arrangements for weekday services will be updated this afternoon.

    UPDATE 24th November 2009, 11.45hrs

    The Galway to Athlone rail line reopened fyesterday following earlier flooding. Full services have resumed between Galway and Dublin.

    Ballinasloe Station has also reopened today, as it had been inaccessible due to flooded access routes.

    Service Disruption

    Some services operating to and from Kildare are experiencing diversions and subsequent delays because of road closures.

    The 126 Kildare-Newbridge-Naas-Dublin is not currently servicing roads in Castlewarden, between Toughers and Newbridge, and the Green Road. Newbridge is though being served. 126 services from Kildare are serving stops in Johnstown and Kill. However, services from Dublin are unable to serve stops in Johnstown and Kill.

    The 120 and 121 - Dublin-Birr - is currently unable to serve Celbridge.

    Galway services southwards are delayed by up to 20 mins.

    UPDATE 14.10hrs, Sunday 29th November

    Bus transfers are currently operating between Athlone and Roscommon on the Dublin to Westport line, due flooding on the line. Services are delayed by approximately 30-40 minutes as a result.

    Please note the 05.15hrs Westport to Dublin service on Monday 30th November will operate as a bus transfer from Westport to Athlone, and a train Athlone to Dublin, as the flooding of recent days has prevented the transfer of a second train to Westport. All other services on the route are operating with bus transfers between Roscommon and Athlone.
