gotta say this **** makes me lose symptathy for them. this is just an attention seeking move but it potentially has dangerous consequences. effectively telling people they can break traffic safety rules for the day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 446 ✭✭You Suck!

So basically.....from how I understand......the law is disposable for one day in these cunts favor?

Basically because they feel victimised and don't want to play?

    Well.....there you have it!
Don't even ask why this country's fucked!

*Awaits incoming Gardai trying to explain that strike action is needed

save it for the sympathetic unionised geebags that'll be marching beside you on Tuesday, I don't give a **** what you call it, it's holding the country to ransom

Who wants to try some arab road skiing on Tuesday? :pac:

In Donegal, they'd refer to this 'free for all' as a nornal days motoring.

Gardai wont be striking. They are forbidden by law (garda siochana act 2005) from striking.

Work continues for me on Tuesday so I will be on the roads. I don't think there will be any change in how I drive either.

I honestly wouldn't. The Gardai will be issuing Penalty Points, make no mistake about it.

The gardaí and defence forces are NOT permitted to strike or go-slow, they are required by law to perform their duties fully.

Anyone that believes this is just an embarassment

Work-to-rule is still a form of strike action

'It includes issuing notices to motorists for speeding, failure to wear a seatbelt , driving while holding a mobile phone, or dangerous overtaking.'

.. so basically, theyr putting other peoples lives at risk to prove their point? i heard they were gonna turn off their phones as well, dunno how true that is tho :pac:

It won't be a properly memorable Tuesday unless there's pancakes involved.

Going to drive like a lunatic in this weather just because you think you wont gets points?

Think of the poor cnuts that will have to hold your hand as your dying, pull your mangled corpse out of the car and wash your blood off the road. Oh and think of your mothers face when as she opens the door to the priest and the guard.

Yeah, everyone thinks it will never be me. Slow the fcuk down.

Em, Speed cameras still are in operation and the Gardaí will NOT be striking. BTW Work-to-rule is not srike action it is industrial action.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strike_action#Categories_of_strikes
Another unconventional tactic is work-to-rule (also known as an Italian strike, in Italian Sciopero bianco), in which workers perform their tasks exactly as they are required to but no better. For example, workers might follow all safety regulations in such a way that it impedes their productivity or they might refuse to work overtime. Such strikes may in some cases be a form of "partial strike" or "slowdown".

Would it not make sense to issue more pentaly point, than issue none ? Really piss a few people off. Ah well, I'll be driving as normal, rather my life than driving like a 747 going for take off.

We've all seen the ad a shítload of times, and people would listen to a Road Safety Authority ad moreso than someone on Boards.

Well that's me told then

People don't listen though, that's the problem. I don't care if you dont want to hear it from me, the neighbour, the shop assistant, the waitress or the fcuking post man for that matter. If enough people said it on a daily basis maybe a few less Parents would be crying over graves this Winter!

So yeah, slow down, guards or no guards.

    Regards, a Boards nobody :p

No points for a day is a worrying thought.

A spike in road deaths could mean an upsurge of ads with emo mots in wheelchairs moping around graveyards after a date in an Irish courtroom weirdly presided over by a British high-court judge.
