Can anyone recommend any childminders in Portlaoise? Not too keen on any of the creches, as I'm a teacher and have no wish to pay through the nose during the summer for a service I won't be availing of.

im glad im not the only one who noticed this. Why do i have to pay when my child is not attending? for example over christmas, bank holidays ect. I still have to pay while they are closed.

no other service industry would get away with it.

It is a fiasco alright, but its still a providers market. Could start to change now that more people are at home to look after their kids.
