PSP Go....E250.00!!!

    Hey Folks,

Okay, so I wanna be meself an oul' Psp Go (apparently they're great for travelling with and giving a great gaming experience), but from what I've seen they're (a pretty costly) E250.00(!!!) or so (not sure if that's great, but PS3's now sell at E350.00...and can do a heck of alot more I'd imagine). So, I'm asking if anyone knows where I might be able to get one perhaps a tad cheaper, or even where I might be able to get a deal with accessories included for it.

    Yours thriftily,

    -Fish Fingers

Get a normal PSP 3000 and a 16gb memory card. That way you have all the functionality of the PSP Go, a bigger screen and the ability to play UMD games.

    Seriously - why bother?

Love the PS3 - using mine constantly.
Early adopter of the PSP - but now disillusioned.
That is a lot of money for a handheld - why not invest in a DS or an XBOX?

I just want something for travelling....and the DS seems a bit, I don't know, overly concentrated and concerned with educating rather than gaming!

What's disillusioned you with the PSP?

I have to disagree with that. OK, so the PSP Go is a gimmicky waste of time, but the PSP itself is a great handheld with an ever expanding library of quality games. Only yesterday Resident Evil 2 and Soulreaver were released for a combined total of €10 on the US PSN store.

So what ? you can't get any of those "ever expanding library of quality games" on the psp go  , thats a stupid statment to make. Also the psp3000 does not have bluetooth or a "pause game" feature. By the way OP the PS3 is €299.

    Thats a feature now?

Ehh it's not really like it sounds, it's more like putting the game into a suspended state..... while you do something else on the pspgo. Joystiq explains it better :)

You can do that on the PSP 3000. It's called sleep mode and lets you pick at the exact spot you left of at, days later. With the PSP Go, you're restricted to the trickle of games on the PSN - and you still can't get games like PES10, FF Tactics War of the Lions, Little Big Planet, Castlevania to mention a few.

No the sleep mode just suspends the whole psp. The go still has sleep mode but with the pause function you can go back to the xmb and listen to music or watch a video or turn the console off and then come back to your game anytime. The original psp still uses some battery in sleep mode and you can't go back to the xmb willy nilly :p

You can get LBP and Castlevania on the store, and yeah sure they have improvements to be made but it's not as bad as people make out.

It seems Kingdom Hearts 2: Birth by sleep won't be coming to PSPgo. SE have announced only UMD version.

Rumours are that they don't have a license for online distribution of Kingdom Heart games with Disney.

I just want something for travelling....and the DS seems a bit, I don't know, overly concentrated and concerned with educating rather than gaming!

What's disillusioned you with the PSP?

    1. Overly expensive
    2. Pricey games
    3. Unable to sync my US PSP with Euro PS3
    4. Idea of only buying games from online store
    5. Loss of trade-in ability.
    6. No 2nd thumb stick for proper control

    Things I did like
    1. Snooze
    2. wifi radio
    3. downloading some games - just did not understand why they were as expensive as in the store

As to the DS - there are loads of decent games out there. PSP - think I will just let my 2nd gen slowly discharge and will eventually put it on a stand in carbonite to remember an old friend that never really delivered on the promises it made. Great opportunities but never realised.
Bit like RainMan - genius but then the movie finished...

Other option is the iPhone - seems to be loads of apps out there
Movies too or if the phone seems just a bit too much if you know what I mean you do have the iTouch.

That's only a rumour though based on very little. I would think that plenty of PSP games have or have had licencing issues, they just renegotiate DD into the licensing and the game is released on the store. I know you read NeoGAF - I'm pretty sure it's no coincidence that the people who are giving this rumour a lot of credence there are the ones who seem to want the PSPgo to fail for whatever reason. Seems to be why this rumour is being given so much merit. S-E had Thexder Neo up on the PSN for the Go's launch, and Disney have released loads of their PS1 games on the PSN also - so they're not new to DD, the PSN or the PSPgo. KH:BBS is also not due for release for another 2 months. I seriously doubt that the game won't make it to the JP PSN on launch week, and if not then, I'm sure they'll have figured out any licensing issues one the English release comes around.

What do you mean by syncing? If by that you mean use your EU PSN account on your US PSP, you can do that. Dunno why you'd bother using your EU account though if the price of games is an issue, you could just purchase them from the US account for much cheaper (assuming you have a credit card that would work, can use Entropay, or could buy US PSN cards).

Legacy titles i can understand as it might not be financial worth the time to relicense them for online distribution but for a new titles people need to get their act together.

I just seems like the PSPgo was thrown into the market by Sony and forgotten about. They don't seem to be pushing it as hard as the lead up to launch. Atleast Atlus have agreed to support it on PSN.

Konami have done fcuk all. Is Pro Evo still not up for psp?
