Stuck with a Psychology Maths Problem

Might be the wrong place to ask, seeing as it's a psychology maths type problem but just wondering if any one can help me with a psychology assignment for my statistics lecture.

I need to find the values of N and ΣX for the scores in the following frequency distribution table:

    X - f
    11 - 2
    5 - 4
    3 - 1
    2 - 2

Even if someone could show me how to do the first one I would be so grateful!
I'm really at a loss with this.

This is definitely an assigment so be careful people. Also, tootyflutty remember that even as a non maths student you can attend the Maths Support Centre at any stage!

N is the number of observations seen in your sample. And ΣX is the "sum of X" so maybe you can think about how you'd go about doing that. Come back if you've more questions.

And, just in case you don't understand how data are represented in a frequency table:

The "f" column is the "frequency": it tells you how many times the number in the "X" column appears in the data set. For example, the first row is telling you that there are two elevens in the data.

Oh crap sorry. It is an assignment, I wasn't trying to get anyone to do it for me! Just a nudge in the right direction. Actually figured out how to do it, just that I had the terminology wrong in my head and that the symbols were confusing me :P

Thanks for the help by the way :)

Oh no, I wasn't suggesting you were. Just making sure no one just went and gave you the answer!
