Genuine question....I honestly don't recall anyone here stating that this was in any way a foregone conclusion.

I seem to remember than some posters were pretty confident it was a forgone conclusion. Maybe they will clarify.

I bumped the two threads yesterday. IMO It's just the usual state the conspiracy as fact then say nothing when it's shown not to be so. From boards.ie in general it seemed to be only the anti-Lisbon treaty heads and CT'ers that thought it would happen.

Maybe you will clarify? You made the claim. I mentioned it as a possibility, which it was. Maybe you could tell me why it was never a possibility?
