    Hi all,

as I said above I have a Taylor 210e with elixir medium gauge strings, which are nice but I have seen reviews of the guitar saying that D'Adarrio EJ11's are better. Any feedback, advice, experience would be appreciated. I'm by no means an expert player but get by. Strumming mainly.

I'm not a fan of D'addario acoustic strings. They sound dead after a week. Check out Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings. Been using them for a while now and I just got 4 sets on special offer from here:

    http://www.totalmusicsupply.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=94000

Beautiful sound and they last 3-4 times longer than when I was using D'Addarios

as far as I know, the strings used for elixirs coated strings are supplied by D'Addario!

If you want coated strings then try Elixir or D'Addario EXP etc but you mentioned EJ11's. These are bronze strings, which will sound nice and bright. Phosphor bronze strings will sound a bit mellower.
So its a matter of taste really.
Strings are relatively cheap! experiment and you'll find ones you like.

Elixir is an independent company from D'addario, the core in the Elixir is different to the D'addario. If you wanted a coated string from D'addario, you could look into he EXP range, they are excellent. Alot of guitars come with EXP's as standard (Shine, Takamine G Series, Legacy, etc). I would highly reccommend them. Elixir Phospher Bronze is a good choice also, at the moment there are alot of shops doing a Buy 2 and get 3rd set free with a free guitar stand so you could shop Irish and get a good deal.
