Is it possible to get an address of www.business.ie.com
I've seen some uk sites that have www.business.uk.com so just wonderinf if the same possible with Ireland. I'm sort of thinking it's not, but just want to make sure.

Then talk to the owner of ie.com, Mr Mike Warriner.

You've got an infraction, personal abuse isn't tolerated.

I asked Mike and he said sorry but no.

Itsdacraic: Read up on DNS and you'll understand why Spear's response was legitimate.

In the UK you can register websites as either .co.uk or now .uk.com
I was just wondering if a similar option was available for Irish registered sites.

www.ie.com would be very different to www.mycompany.ie.com

I have since found out this option isn't available for irish sites.

That's because someone registered the uk.com domain name to offer example.uk.com subdomains of their uk.com domain.

If someone registered the ie.com domain for the same purpose then it would be possible.

Just fork out for a .ie domain ya cheapo. :)

Ah very good. Thats a good explanation, cheers.

It's not a cost issue at all, it was more just looking for a way to keep two similar sites with very similar addresses for appearance purposes. The reasoning behind it is very long winded and almost impossible to explain! Cheers.
