Via Gort is possible . I think the Gort - Kinvara road was raised above the flood water in 1994 and is therefore passable . Can anybody confirm that leg, Gort guards maybe ????

radio says you can go that way, but major delays, gort is flooded so theres diversions in place. but thats the route being advised to get from loughrea to galway city and back anyway

That flood is in Labane north of Gort , there is a road WEST to Kinvara too ...if it is open .

The short cut from the N18 near Kilcolgan that runs behind Adrahan and Laban ending near Kiltartan rail crossing, is also flooded in at least two places, so if you turn off at Laban or Adrahan you are likely to find the road flooded in areas.
