Did I miss all the chatter about International Mens Day, considering all the righteous fuss over Movember and the veritable fact that in Oz they are usually led by the same people - it is astouding that we haven't had a hoop-la over it.

During a day when we couldn't figure out if the French were playing handball or football with our football team last night, and we have some decent handball players, spare a thought for your mate, brother, father, son, partner (ladies, eh and some men) and those that need an Amen.

heard tom dunnoe (the real one) talk about it on his radio show, not much publicity at all. Same for kick a ginger day. Only heard about it after the date past us, and no I didn't get any kicks from strangers.

international mens day? WTF. Yet another Hallmark day? Reminds me, I must run out and get a card for Global Goldfish Day, BoB deserves recognition.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

I don't think it's a Hallmark day, is it? I thought it was more of an awareness thing, like International Women's Day... focussing on health issues, etc.

But OP what did you expect for IMD?

What does it mean anyway or is it pretend stuff.

Theres an International Women's Day too? The sceptic in me just cringes at all of these awerness days. They have become so commonplace that they no longer have any effect.

There is indeed. I agree with you, fwiw, nobody seems to do anything worthwhile with such awareness days - but at least it's not just a "yay, men!" effort a la "yay, love!" and "yay, mammies/daddies!".

So its probably one of these UN designated days- Uh we have A Womens Day so I suppose we will designate a mens day. Big swinging micky.

Or it could really be a radical feminist Gloat at men who know their place Day-an International Wuss Day. I would run with that and its probably not a Mens Day at all.

An International Lets Find Elvis Day - now that would be something.

EDIT - IMD - Intentional Maneuvers in the Dark - now thats a day we can all look forward too:D
