Gabe Sapolsky was at a recent SD/ECW show, he was not impressed with anyone bar Punk....
Dragon Gate USA executive Gabe Sapolsky says he thought the Smackdown/ECW TV taping last night in Philadelphia "sucked" due to the robotic nature of the wrestlers performing for the casual audience.

"Most of the wrestlers were robotic (stop at top of ramp, pose, walk into ring, ignore entire crowd and turn to hard cam, pose, turn back to ramp and wait for opponent). Everything was formulaic," Sapolsky blogged on MySpace. "I sat there for two hours from the opening bell waiting through dead time between matches and endless videos before Smackdown actually started."

Sapolsky was an apprentice under Paul Heyman in the Original ECW and did not acknowledge WWE's ECW TV taping taking place before the Smackdown taping. Sapolsky gave a positive review to ECW Original Tommy Dreamer and former ROH champion C.M. Punk, who Sapolsky worked with in Ring of Honor.

"I left after C.M. Punk's promo (to start Smackdown). Punk was great, but the taping sucked," he said. "However, it wasn't all bad as Tommy Dreamer is still over in Philly and Punk is a superstar."

Jericho responds and owns him to be honest..:p

"Dammit if Gabe Sopolsky wasn't impressed, then what chance does the WWE have to survive even one more day??? Breadline, here I come," Jericho said.

    Gabe responds again....

Sapolsky responded by inviting Jericho to an upcoming show he's producing where Jericho could sample a different product other than WWE's.

"Don't worry about the breadline Mr. Jericho, you are always welcome in Dragon Gate USA or EVOLVE," Sapolsky said. "Better yet Mr. Jericho, consider yourself invited to 11/28 Philly or 1/23 Chi. DGUSA events & compare it to Smackdown yourself."

For what it's worth, WWE is scheduled for a Smackdown/ECW house show in Maryland on November 28, but Jericho is not advertised to the show. WWE has another SD/ECW house show on January 23 in Indiana that Jericho is advertised for.

Why is Jericho being so touchy? Sapolosky, like everyone else, is entitled to his opinion, even if his opinion seems rather biased, only being impressed by 2 former co workers.

Because Gabe is a wrestling snob. Kind of person who only likes bands people have never heard off that nobody cares about. He's also a wrestling knob but that's another matter

In what sense is he a "knob"?

Gabe is not a wrestling snob- whatever anyone takes that to mean- he has his tastes like anyone else, and here he's clearly taken the opportunity to bash a product he isn't into- whilst convienently giving himself a chance for a cheap plug for his own brand of wrestling. But he's always given fair dues to the other brands and styles out there, and he'll usually admit to them simply not being his thing. I take this to be an out of character attempt to stir up some attention.
Jericho replying does nothing but draw attention to him and his product.

I agree though- his sentiment over Tommy Dreamer is ridiculous- Dreamer hasn't been over for a decade, and his comments on Smackdown are hardly fair.
