I'm getting back into rugby after many years away, where is the best place to pick up a pair of rugby boots around Dublin?

I take it the metal studs only rule is still in play for club league matches?

    Yeah, still only aluminium studs.
I usually buy my boots online. Somewhere like: www.rugbystore.co.uk

Dont know any good shops. I find that Elverys has f*** all boots for rugby

I just stuck my head into the Leinster store in Donnybrook they had a huge selection of boots.

Elverys has a really poor selection, even the rugby specific one.

You can wear any boots you want with any studs plastic, metal, moulded even blades if you want. Most people just wear football boots

Blades n moulds are okish if you happen to be a back mental if you happen to be a forward !! you need big studs!!

Sure big studs are great in crappy weather like this but when it comes to dry pitches in September or a frozen pitch there none too comfortable.

Simple solution is to buy a normal pair of boots and a pack of metal studs.

I would say if you're are changing boots (different make / style) do not buy them online. You don't get to try them on and see how the fit.

I got badly stung with this at the start of this year. I bought a pair of addidas flankers (version iv i think) off rugbystore.co.uk thinking they would be the same as the previous version. Got some very bad blisters off them on my heels, around about the size of 2 euro coins they were. Was sidelined for 2 weeks while they healed, and the abuse i got...

But by all means, if you're getting the same boot, no reason not to save by buying online.

No reason why ya cant try them on in the shop and go home and buy online.. Good point though, even between makers sizes differ
