Disabling USB Messages Appearing

I was wondering if anyone on here knows of a windows change/registry change in order to stop a USB driver message popping up in windows ?

I have a Virtual Machine (VM) sitting on a laptop with an instrument connected physically to the laptop.
The instrument is working fine through the VM but if i disconnect the USB cable from the physical laptop, an "error" appears seeking drivers but i don't want this occurring.

I still need it to connect through the physical machine but work through the VM but i can't have any error appearing when disconnecting from the physical PC for validation reasons.

If doesn't seem like anything occurring with the VM but if there is a workaround within windows to stop such messages appearing then this should sort me out.

Within device manager i can't disable the device or uninstall it obviously as i still need it functioning.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about 'balloon' messages?

    1. Go to Device Manager and expand USB Controllers (Universal Serial Bus Controllers).
    2. Right click each of the USB Controllers and select 'Properties'.
    3. Click on the 'Advanced' tab.
    4. At the bottom of the window put a check mark in 'Don't tell me about USB errors' and click 'OK'.
    5. Do this for each USB option in device manager and with any luck the pop-ups will stop.
