My netgear router supports the following

    WPA-PSK [TKIP]
    WPA2-PSK [AES]
    WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]

Which is most secure and does anyone of these cause network slowness (trying to avoid a protocol which will slow my connection down)

    Thanks

any extra baggage on your packets will slow your network down, on the way in and on the way out so its 2-fold.

configure your router just to send out a static ip address that you assign it, just one, or in a range..

then configure your wireless machine/laptop to recognise the router.

no need for passwords any more and totally secure wireless network, only downside is having to change ip settings to access other wireless networks but its no big deal..
