How to really cause accidents

The other day, driving out of our village on the narrow and windey road, I came across a thumping great bulk tipper truck parked up on the left hand lane facing me. The driver was out of the cab and ambling around the outer side of the vehicle. I slowed right down to pass him, and the driver looked at me and then over his shoulder, scratched his a**e and wandered off.

As I passed the rear of the truck, I discovered that there was a portable traffic light a few yards behind it and completely obscured by it, with two cars there. The lights had just turned green and the first car was pulling out past them. I was by then about ten feet from his tail lights and he had no reason to suspect anyone coming down the other lane, so probably wasn't watching. I couldn't stop in time to avoid hitting him, so the only thing to do was boot it and get past him before he really got moving. I'd imagine he was cursing me as a mad fool who shouldn't be on the road, but at least I avoided hitting him.

Coming back along the same road later, there was a pile of black top dumped in a gap in the verge on my side of the road, so obviously the truck driver had been positioning himself to reverse across the road to tip it.

OK, nothing happened other that a brown pants monent for the driver I shot past, but what if the lights hadn't been green but red? I could have ploughed head on into some other poor f****R.

    * and before anyone says it Idid stay back and check as far ahead as I could see*

Anyway, if by any chance the guy I put the s**s up in the other car is a boardie, I apologise. But what the hell do they teach these council drivers nowadays? Is stupidity a condition of employment?
