Contract law question

    Hi folks,

    Im going through Enrights book here but i cant seem to get the answers for this, i should probably already know the answers anyway considering ive studies contract law but i cant remember!

    So, if a employment contract says for example, i start a certain position on the 1st of a particular month, and i dont sign the contract till the 10th of the month for example, when has the contract become sealed? Is it retrospective or is it from the moment i sign it even though it says the 1st on it?

    And if a dismissable incident was to happen on the 5th for instance, and the contract was still signed on the 10th (the company knowing about this incident when the contract was presented and letting the employee sign it) and the employee was not made aware of the dismissable incident untill the 15th for instance, is that grounds for the contract being void? for misrep?

    Thanks for any help and just to note this isnt a request for legal advice, some of you may be aware im studing law at the moment from previous posts.
