superannuation schemes help!

    HI,

I am currently working with a local authority, my contract is coming to an end at the end of this month and will not be renewed,

Since i have been here longer then 2 years I am entitled to redundancy which is great, but was also informed that I owe them money as part of the superannuation scheme, which they never took off me when I was in here first as student

problem is they are paying me redundancy from dates since I am consistently here.
But they are charging me the superannuation for the first stint i done as a student here,

    to make it clear
    Work Experience Service:
    Days
    Service
    Amount Owed
    22/04/2006-03/10/2006
    166
    0.4548

    30/02/2007-30/06/2007
    123
    0.3370

So I owe them for both those stints, but they are only paying me redundancy for the second one. I asked and was told that the first period cannot be considered for the claim because "the period of employment was terminated by way of your resignation and can not therefore be considered. It must however be considered for superannuation purposes in line with the existing superannuation schemes" But I didnt resign! it was a contract that expired and wasn't renewed,.

Anyone have any experience in this? help... thanks:confused:

I'm pretty certain this isn't the right place for this one, but if anyone can assist feel free to do so. I'll try to find a better home for it in the meantime.

    cordially,
