Overqualified

I applied for a part-time job in my chosen area. The employer has told me he thinks I am over qualified but has set up a meet anyway. I am experienced and well qualified but don't have some of the specific experience he requires. I'm not sure how I will convince him I am the right person for the job. Any advice?

The reason people say you are 'overqualified' for a job is if they think that you are simply taking the first job that comes along and that given your qualifications you will soon move on.

What you need to do is convince the interviewer that if he employs you that you are going to bring something valuable to his company and that you will be there for the long haul.
