Connection problem with Onkyo TX-SR607

I have a problem with my Onkyo TX-SR607 whereby if I connect both HDMI and Composite to say input 1, the composite connections are never recognized. If I unplug the HDMI cable, it will work. Check the manual, but I reckon that the inputs are assigned - you can change the assignments in the setup menus, but it will default to which ever input is nominated - in your case it sounds as though HDMI is assigned.
