    Hi,

Am heading there next week for 5 days. I have no accom booked but was hoping to spend maybe 2 nights in Accerife. Does anyone have anysuggestions for a nice clean cheap sleep there. I'm kinda assuming that accom won't be full but would still rather have a place booked anyway.

Also I may do a bit of surfing too. Any recommendations. Is Puerto De Carmen a decent town without been too tacky. Any accom recommendations there; as I may spend a couple of nights there too.

Also any other suggestions for the lone traveller that would kinda like to stay away from the Irish bars if you know what I mean. OK I may go to one one night. My only allowance!

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

From what i know of lanzarote, the best place for wind surfing (presume you can surf there as well) is Costa Teguise from what i have heard. I am not a surfer.

In relation to Arrecife i personally didn't think a whole lot of it. There isn't a whole lot there i thought. If i were you i'd stay in puerto del carmen old town area which isn't really that tacky and is based around a small fishing port etc. There is an excellent bus service from there to arrecife which may take 10/15 mins and also to costa teguise which is about 30mins from puerto del carmen i think.

You should try out lanzarote.com and see what it comes up with in the old town area.

    Enjoy.:)

For good surfing in Lanzarote you will need to go to Famara, huge waves there.
I would second the suggestion about staying in Peurta del Carmen, there will be much more happening there than Arrecife.

Old Town of Puerto Del Carmen sounds like the right place. In no way tacky and the best food in PdC (Dare I say it have eaten better there than Ireland and at half the price). Close enough to the new town to go on a large night out (taxi five mins away) but far enough away for your own chilled out time or quiet pint.

Would you plan on renting a car?The best waves are the west coast alright so alot of PdC dwellers rent a car for the week and make their way to surf spots about 20 mins away.you can get to spots not reachable by bus either.

Self-catering accom sounds like your best bet as a lone traveller. Ryanair have started to fly there, got some great deals for last month.
