It was very slow over the last few days (about 4 times slower than usual).
I'm on the the 10Mb service in Dublin 6W. I can't say the net dropped out completely, but I had stopped using it around 11.30pm. It's possible they're doing work to fix the speed issue?

I find the speed tests unreliable so my own test is to use Firefox to download a large file from microsoft.com. I find their servers are able to push bits at the maximum rate you can download them. The reason I use Firefox is it shows you the download rate. Vista SP2 is here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.aspx?na=90&p=&SrcDisplayLang=en&SrcCategoryId=&SrcFamilyId=a4dd31d5-f907-4406-9012-a5c3199ea2b3&u=http%3a%2f%2fdownload.microsoft.com%2fdownload%2fE%2f7%2f7%2fE77CBA41-0B6B-4398-BBBF-EE121EEC0535%2fWindows6.0-KB948465-X86.exe

With a 10MB connection, Firefox should show the D/L rate between 1-1.1Mb/sec. I was only getting 300-400Kb Max in the last few days.

*Just realised you're on UTV broadband. My bad. I'm on NTL

Mine was down for a brief period tonight (10 minutes) but up right now.

Try setting your dns servers to

    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220

Thanks but I am using Open DNS. I think I have to use their DNS servers.
