I am feeding nuts to my weanlings on top of the silage in my slatted shed. I have a few small weanlings who can get out through the feed barrier. Any simple ideas out there on how to keep them in their pen and still allow them access to their nuts. I placed an extra rail at the bottom of the barrier....it keep them in ok but now they cannot reach down to the nuts ???

how about moving the extra rail above their heads as apposed to below them, that way they will still reach their nuts but wont have as much room to get out

hang a length of 1 1/2" or 2" piping from 2 ropes at the front of the barrier. The pipe can move forward and up as they are eating.Adjust height to suit. The pipe can be removed after a week or two.worked for me.

This is what i did, worked great, put a lat about their heads fastened by zip ties to the barrier
