    This is a fantastic idea.

For the next round of boards.ie cycling kit orders, why don't we do a redesign of the cycling jersey incorporating a picture of an Irish road tax disc and the slogan "I pay motor tax"?

I'd almost volunteer if anyone wants to tell me how its done and as long as it doesn't involve telephoning people (cos I'm deaf and can't use the phone anymore).

Janey, you guys are quick. I don't get a bronze medal at all, cos I'm apparently fourth. :p

And how do we know that you do? Because you got a fancy t-shirt with a make believe disc on it?
Just playing devils advocate here guys...besides most motorists know that most cyclists are also car owners etc.
I'd much prefer if cyclists cycled single lane, obeyed traffic laws and lights.
That would give us a much better profile than some t-shirt.

The basic problem with this idea is that we shouldn't have to justify our use of the roads for cycling. We are completely entitled to do so, regardless of whether we might also pay car taxes.

Also, even though I pay various car taxes I reject this idea out of solidarity with my car-less cycling brethren.

You know two abreast is perfectly legal, right? Three abreast when overtaking- that is the max. Agree with the rest.

I'd prefer one saying "nobody pays road tax" or something about pedestrians. It is the "us & them" attitude that sickens me, oddballs who primarily define themselves by their mode of transport. "we accept you one of us, one of us"

And how do we know that you do?
Does it matter if you believe them or not? I think you are missing the point.
besides most motorists know that most cyclists are also car owners
It is not aimed at these people
