Would I be able to do the H.Dip in Primary Teaching?

Hi, thanks for reading in advance. I've heard the courses for Primary Teaching are extremely difficult to get into. I'm not sure if I'd have a chance.
THE BAD PART: I got a 2:2 in my degree (though I think I was capable of a first - parent died unexpectedly in final year, threw me off completely). My subjects were English and History joint major with a year of German. On the plus side, my Irish is good, I went to an all-Irish school. My Leaving Cert was good. I'm 23 now, doing voluntary work since I haven't managed to find a job recently. I would really love to go back to college with my small amount of savings. Do any of you have advice on what my best route into primary education would be? or would I be wasting my time even trying, considering the level of competition?

Hi, for doing the h dip in primary the main requirement is a minimum C3 in honours irish leaving cert paper. Basic level 7 degree which you have is fine and you also have to have the enthusiasm which you also have.

I applied to hibernia and will begin feb, its 8850 so its expensive enough. i have heard but not officially confirmed that a lot of the colleges are not running the course this year because of the current state of affairs, lack of jobs and influx of primary teachers. only way to confirm is to ask the colleges id say.

best of luck with it if you do apply.
