    Aloha Folks,

Just wondering if any of ye guys might be aware recently completed trails in North Mayo area? I have a feeling I saw or heard of something along those lines over the last year or so... or am I just imagining it??
Equally any already existing trail details would also be appreciated.

    Thanks All...

    Cecil,

Abbots Crozier and myself cycled Bellacorick to Newport via the western way. forestry track and some on small tarred roads. not certain but from OSI it would appear that you could extend this to BAllycastle in North Mayo if you wanted. we just didn't have time.

There are also a number of NAtional Looped Walks that have recntly been opened in the area but i'm not sure if these are suitble for bicycles. more hiking routes really. http://www.coillteoutdoors.ie/index.php?id=83

the bald monk is quite right. the western way is very bikeable as has been discussed in other threads. the scenery was obscured due to misht on the day the monk reffers to but having been up there on cleaner days i assure you its worth checking. ballycastle to newp is a route i plan to cover in the future. let us know how ballycastle to bellacorick goes if you attempt it.
