I have a 1997 Opel Corsa and I recently had to jump start it. The radio wouldn't work afterwards and 'Safety Code' appeared on the display. I tried putting in 0000 and it now displays 'Locked'. Does anyone know what the code would be? I could disconnect the battery again but don't want to do that until I know the code. Thanks for any help.

Have a look in the service books, in my experience someone has often noted it down somewhere.

Is it the original stereo that came with the car? If it is, check your manual, it will say there. If you don't have your manual, you will probably have to ask an opel dealer to give you the code

I'd suggest getting in touch with an Opel dealer and asking for the radio code.

Though maybe, someone here can supply it.

I had a Citroen years ago. The code for the radio was written on the top of the it in marker. I had to take it out to find it. every time i got it serviced the radio reset itself and i had to enter the code. its worth a look!!!

Bryaner who posted after me below is saying something similar

See if you can get the radio out (sometimes the code is on the back of the radio)
otherwise you will have to ring opel with the reg and they should give you the
code, some charge you for it but decent garages might get it for free for you.

The radio lock should reset after 20 mins leaving you another go at putting the

    code in.

have a look in places like under the ash tray....often you will find the code written there or maybe a sticker inside the glove box...or could be written on or in the handbook...

Write it down on the back of the radio too if you can remove it. :)
