Dyspraxia and Assistive Technology

    Hi everyone,

Our daughter has just (today) got a computer to help her at school because she has dyspraxia and can't write. The computer has come through the SENO and the Department of Education.

The school are unsure as to how the computer will pan out - what classes she will be able to use it for, whether she will do school exams on it, whether she will have to bring it in and out of school each day.

Does anyone have direct or indirect experience of a similar situation that they could share please?

We have been told that if her speeds are good enough she can use it for state exams or failing that she will get a scribe. But because she has a slight speech impediment, that may be problematic too :)

Any words of wisdom, no matter how small, would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks.
