    Folks,
please feel free to move, didnt know where else to post.

Just looking back at some phone bills and have been charges a whopping €170 for the above number which we did not dial. Does anyone know what this number is? All we have is Sky and surely that cant be it. According to the phone bill it was dialled when we are at work, at 4am in the morning etc.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

tapped the number into Google and it came up with something about number spoofing and dodgy telemarketers playing tricks on your Caller ID.

I've just found out that the number above is from an alarm monitoring system. they are dialling this number to ensure that the line is working. they need only dial it once a night but they were dialling several times a day. If you have an alarm ring the company to check it out. Phone providers were telling me it was telemarketers but they were wrong.

i ask them for a refund of the money and for them to setup a freephone number.

does it say anywhere on the contract they will ring their own number every night. they will get a cut of the call charges on that number i would say.
