ok looking for a new laptop for college work, I would need it to be able to run some heavy programs like 3ds max, and Unreal Development Kit, so I would need a hefty graphics card i think, and would like at least 4gig RAM, my budget is 700e - 800e would prefer a reliable brand rather than some Lidl offer. Would like to be able to play most games maybe not crysis(but I would like to use the cryengine editor maybe not possible with budget), but I have my ps3 for the real heavy stuff

    thanks in advance:pac:

I asked a similar question about a week ago and a Dell Studio 17 (T4300 processor, 3GB RAM, build number N0074502) with an upgraded graphics card (1GB ATI Radeon HD4650) would do a good job for most recent games at medium settings (big screen, heavy though). Works out at €739 delivered. Maybe throw in another gig of RAM for €40.

My existing machine is a Dell (Inspiron 6400) and it has been totally reliable for almost 3 years.

Good stuff, let us know how you get on. I have my eye on one of these once I can convince my management that I 'need ' a new laptop, probably in the new year.
