Nice gun, but my intentions were to use it on deer I don't think the ballistics are suitable unless some one can prove other wise i'd have to pull out

Hi 4Gun,

Not a problem, this is not suitable for deer to my knoweldge, as its firing Pistol amunition either 38 Spl, OR .357 Magnum, neither calibre are acceptable for Deer shooting in this country as i understand it.

It's not strictly deer legal, but millions of deer have been killed in the states with 44/40's which would be around the same energy levels, a 44 magnum lever action would be deer legal as it has the exact same energy as a 22/250 all the way out to 300 yards, except the trajectory is poor after 150 yards, in the states they reckon the best deer caliber up to 150 yards is 44 magnum as its wide and heavy. Only problem here in Ireland is that any thing over .308 is restricted.

I've shot a .357 Marlin lever action and I found it a really nifty gun, quick pointabilty and handy sized, plus ammo is very reasonable. accuracy was all you'd need in real world hunting. I'd really love to buy one, but I fear my wife would go bananas if I told her I was buying another gun right now.

hi,

This gun is long sold, with regard to the amount of ammo that went through it - lots... with these the more the merrier unless they have been tuned, or worked they are very stiff, and difficult to use from the box.

Your CS has certainly licensed these in the past before her move.

i should of looked at the date of post. new to boards still dont know what im doing :eek:
yes i know she had being issueing them before her move. but taught when the stats came out and she issued more restricted stuff than anyone else. she went about changeing that and issueing on restricted stuff at all. well so i was told. if i was miss informed id be happy to hear it
