Abuse in the Workplace

Hi there, not sure if this is the right place to post this, mods please move it if it should be somewhere else.

I need some advice; I have a friend who has a part time job which she depends on to provide the means for her to attend college. Recently she has been subjected to some reasonably serious bullying in her job, mostly from her managers and supervisors. This ranges from her being mocked and slagged over her appearance and country accent to being fully screamed at for no reason, being given impossible or pointless tasks to do, or made a show of in front of her fellow workers. This is usually from one supervisor in particular. I advised that she could complain to her manager about the situation but lately it seems that her manager has turned against her too. At the start of this academic year she was promised a certain number of hours that would allow her to earn some money without sacrificing college work and performance, however lately she has been given far too many hours to allow her to complete her college work and when she raises this issue it is ignored by her manager, she was promised every third weekend off to go home and see her family but lately this has also been ignored, this manager has also started to throw in personal digs about her. This abuse is isolated to her specifically, other employees are not insulted or berated in the manner that she is, and other employees seem to be given days off and have lateness excused or forgotten about seemingly at will.

I would like to know what action she can take to try and stop this bullying and what, if any, employee protection legislation she has on her side in the whole situation.

Thanks in advance for any help.
