Blackra1n question

I completely flashed my iphone yesterday with the 3.12 firmware from Apple and then over the course of last night reinstalled everything from scratch.

Then today I ran blackra1n jailbreak. In the instructions for blackra1n it mentions doing a complete restore first but I didn't bother. I ran the jb and then the phone rebooted.

All seems fine, is the restore first actually necessary if I already have 3.12 ?

Nope you dont have to restore if you just updated to 3.1.2. A restore is needed when youve been on 3.1.2 for a period of time as not to waste space on your iphone. At least thats what i read but could be wrong though ^_^
