Comics workshop, Shannon.

    Hiya everyone, for anyone that's interested and living in the Limerick/Shannon/Ennis region there will be a comic workshop held at the Art &Craft Co. in Shannon on 28th of November - we'll be covering all styles particularly Manga/ American style/ Fantasy. Below are the details and if anyone is interested you can book instore at their Ennis or Shannon shop. Classes cost 10 Euros for a full 2 hours. Numbers are limited to 15 so be sure to book before the 21st of November- and anyone who attends gets a discount on Letraset marker packs and their new comic boards!



    Comic Art Workshop

    Saturday 28th November 2009
    Starting at 11-00am
    Finishing at 1-00pm
    Cost : €10-00 (not including materials)
    Materials: Bring your own materials that you use at home such as pens, pencils, markers, A4 sketch pad and so on. A4 Comic drawing paper will be provided by us on the day but be sure to bring an A4 pad yourself. Also, bring a hardback folder to use as a sloped drawing surface - a old lever arch file is fine. There will be a special offer on a Promarker Comic Art Set of 10 on the day for €19-95 and a Promarker set of 5 for €13-95. (You can also buy these sets at the special offer prices before the day of the workshop if you want to get practising!)

    It is a 2 hour workshop in a warm, comfortable environment in our Shannon shop. Your tutor is Alma, an experienced and skilled comic artist. She will cover the main styles such as:
    Manga
    American Super Hero
    Disney
    Fantasy (Lord of the Rings, etc)
    Skills covered in the workshop will be:
    Structure of characters
    Sketching of characters
    Inking
    Colouring
    Story Panels
    If you would like to do a particular style on the day please let us know and your tutor will try to include it. The workshop is suitable for most skill levels from beginners up and all ages from 8 yrs up. Your tutor may break the group into two or more parts depending on styles or skill levels. At the end of the 2 hour session your tutor will give you worksheets on the material covered to take home and keep and use to create your own characters.
