I've never been to Leopardstown for Christmas. Whats it like? I've heard its the best racing meeting in Ireland apart from maybe Punchestown Festival.

Talk of S Europe and Solwhit (maybe) going has me wishing it to come sooner.

You can't beat Xmas at Leopardstown, great racing, great crowds and great excuse to get out of the gaff and get some fresh air after the excesses of the festive season. Although there might not be as many excesses this year!

Very enjoyable Nulty. The fact that Christmas is over means most people are relaxed - but still in holiday mode. If you don't like crowds, avoid St Stephens' Day. Normally, I pick one or two races that I particularly like and go on those days (usually 2 days).

After all the hassle of Crimbo, it's a great relief to get out of the house, into the fresh air and enjoy some racing (and a few pints of course).

Great day out. If its dry couldn't be better, going myself but can't decide when's the best day can only go one day. Hope S Europe is running. W Mullins should have a couple of winners.

Won two tickets for 27th but regifted them to someone in work as a Kris Kindle present . think you can get them for a tenner each if you've an account with Paddy Power.
Heading out for Lexus Day doing the winter warmer package. Should be a cracking day. Interesting to see who Ruby will ride in the big one.

Me too and seeing as he picked Cooldine over What a Friend at cheltenham he may do the same. But with Nicholls supplementing What a Friend and his performance behind Denman in the Hennessy they obviously feel he has a live chance of taking it.

Worth taking a shot with WAF for sure, the Irish contingent are second rate bar Cooldine who has questions to answer after Punchestown.

If Imperial Commander and Voy Por Ustedes turn up it will be a decent race though.

Voy por will be hard beaten if he turns up. Never seen him jump so bad as he did the last day and kings horses will hopefully be finding there form for the christmas festivals.
I reckon imperial commander will defo run in the king george providing the meeting survives the elements.
I agree that all the irish seem inferior to the english bar cooldine but it will be very interesting as to which one ruby chooses.

Leopardstown christmas festival is my favourite irish festival providing you dont mind the cold :D

I don't think VPU would stay 3m at Leopardstown sticky ground in a horse box.

Would have some sort of chance of doing so at Punchestown in May on decent groun, but couldnt have him nearly on my mind. That, as well as trainer form, historic need for first run of the season, possibly on the downgrade, will definitely be looking to avoid. Not on heavy clogging winter ground.

Lots of question marks about the principals, Cooldine form, Notre Pere form, Imperial Commander staying, What A Friend attitude, Joncol staying, which means that its hard to get a grip about the race, but I just dont see VPU staying 3m on the predicted ground.

If Imperial Commander turns up id be on his side, i think hes guaranteed to stay the trip.
If not i probably go for Cooldine depending on prices.

Ruby's on Cooldine and that's enough for me. Thought he may have went with What A Friend after his Hennesey performance but maybe that's taken a lot out of the horse and he looks a little quirky but also because the Mullins stable doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders yet whereas Nicholls stable is hitting top gear and they have been having decent winners around Christmas the last few years. A little surprising to me but who know's better? Me or Ruby? :D
