Can't get off safe mode

Hey,

I had a presentation in college earlier and I used my laptop for the presentation. I connected it up and it worked fine during the presentation except it kept sort of flicking off and on. I think it was more because I didnt have the connection in properly. Anyways, afterwards I looked at the computer and i noticed it had gone onto safe mode(i knew by the look).

So i restarted the computer and it still came up safe mode. Then i restarted again and tired F2 and did some tests but it didnt work.

Then I tried F12 and clicked 'normal start' but it started in safe mode again.

Then i typed in msconfig into search and made sure it was on safe mode, clicked ok, and restarted but its still on safe mode.

I'm using vista. Any ideas how to fix it or what's wrong?
