msn messenger wont download?why?

    For some reason windows live wont download properly..keeps getting stuck on 14%..any ideas what I need to do to download this properly?

    what link are you trying to download from? Have you tried a different source?

    Have you downloaded the installer from here: http://download.live.com ?

    Try the full installer. It will take longer to download but should be much more reliable.

    There are a couple of things strike me here...

    Sometimes ISPs seem to block downloads beyond a certain size during a certain period of time. This can be intentional to circumvent temporary factors like system maintenance, or it can be accidental.
    If you try on another day, you may have no issue.

    wlsetup-web.exe or wlsetup-all.exe may have become corrupted during the download, whichever variant you are currently using, or indeed any other variant.

    The solution then is to uninstall any existing messenger install you have and delete wlsetup-all.exe from your hard drive. Do this by flushing the cache of your browser and also deleting anything that looks like wlsetup-all.exe from the C: ProgramData directory. Or indeed anything that looks like wlsetup (Windows Live setup).

    Then restart the PC and try again.
