How obtain media from Mac formatted iPod on Win XP

Can anyone advise on a solution to the following:
    - have a new iPod Nano, formatted on an Apple hence in its file system format and loaded up with music and media,
    - my own laptops are all Windows XP.
    - I want to retrieve this media from the iPod if possible onto a Windows PC before I reformat it for Windows and continue synching it with Windows iTunes.

Is this easily possible? I have tried XPlay and MacDrive 8 - the latter allows me to see the iPod but not any of the media.

    thanks

    Try this Ipod Browser

Am afriad that does not work. The problem is that the iPod is formatted to a macintosh FS and hence file visibility is restricted. With MacDrive I can see the device from Windows XP, it is given a drive mapping and I can also see the folders but I can NOT see any of the media evenm though I have also tried this browser and XPlay.

    Any other suggested solutions?

Thanks guys but the problem persists. The ipod browsers you recommend can see the device but can not show or manipulate any pof the music because as I said the ipod device was formatted as Macintosh FS.

That's the crux of the problem so either I:
    - wipe the ipod and reformat as Windows (but then I lose all the music on it),
    - I borrow an Apple, use an Apople Ipod browser to copy the files from the ipod and then separately reformt the ipod to W8indows and somehow transfer the files from the Apple to the now Windows formatted ipod which I believe is possible.

Any other suggestions before I try this?

.. sorry for bumping this but have this same problem. Does anyone know will MacDrive or XPlay work for me? Willing to buy software if it'll do the job of getting music from mac formatted ipod into windows itunes. Cheers
