moving my dole ??

    hi guys a quick question, im on the dole i was living at home when i got it so i got the whole 204e , im living with my boyfriend now who is working, i live about 3 hours away from the post office i have to collect , how to i change it to a post office near me and will my payments be effected???

    It seems that you have moved some distance from your previous social welfare office, so you need to go to your closest office and ask for them to transfer your claim. You should go down to the office asap, bring ID with you and proof of your new address.

    If you are on Jobseeker's Benefit, it should be straight forward enough, however if you are on Jobseeker's Assistance you will have to be means tested, and your boyfriend's earnings will be taken into account.

    So, you should get down to your local social welfare office without delay, as it could take a few days for your money to be switched to a new post office.
