Implant or Bridge?

I have to get a front bottom tooth out, and so far, my periodontist has suggested an implant, and my orthodontist has suggested a bridge. I've yet to find a dentist and let him/her choose. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Personally I'd go for an implant but that's only because I have one and love it. :)

I have one crown on the opposite tooth to the implant and the crown just doesn't feel as secure as the implant. I know it's in my own head but I find the implant feels more like a real tooth and a real part of my mouth.

Of course the implant is a more invasive procedure but I really do not regret it at all. Hope that might help a bit. :)

Implant all the way as you're not using/drilling into the neighbouring teeth to support it.

What's the procedure like for an implant? And how much is it?

I'm not sure what price it would be, I got mine done in the Dental Hospital so it was cheaper than with a normal dentist.

Basically they screw a metal post (it's just like a screw) down into the bone and screw a tooth on top of it. It's a surgical procedure but it didn't take long as far as I remember and I just had a local anaesthetic for it. My dad had two implants done under conscious sedation and doesn't remember it at all.

I didn't have any swelling or anything after the operation which was great too. I don't remember suffering any pain either tbh.

The idea is that the post they put in fuses with the jaw bone and that's that! It's got a higher chance of failure if you're a smoker though.
