    Hi folks

A quick search of this forum didnt really show up anything too new.

I want to move my blogger blog to a new hosted domain on Blacknight. I will probably be using WordPress as the new blogging software.

There are a lot of tutorials out there on moving blogger to wordpress including this very good one

What I am looking for is if anyone has any good advice on doing this sort of move without loosing my pagerank and seo rep I have managed to build up.

There is no easy answer here.
You will lose whatever seo juice you have built up as the url (domain name) is totally different.

You can still get traffic from the old site by forwarding it, but in terms of google etc, it is basically starting from scratch in the rankings.

Depending on the method of redirection from your blogger site, google may realise you have changed domains and start applying existing rankings to the new url, but nobody can be sure exactly what they do, and I would be doubtful that they would.

sorry, I see you already have your own domain name on blogger.
Well in that case, most of your seo juice should transfer. I would be careful to keep the same urls though so the content is still indexed in the same way.

Eg: the url for your article on widgets is the same after the switch

So what I have done now is bought the domain through Google and they do all the work of the redirect etc and hopefully it will all settle back down. Takes a while and I have had to resubmit my blog to all the major engines for indexing all over again.
