Does anyone know anyone in Galway who is handy with a small soldering iron?
I had to replace the screen on my mp3 player today, which went beautifully, but in the process the touchpad literally fell off and needs to be reattached to the wires.

I'd be willing to pay, though not an extortionate amount if you can recommend someone in the city who repairs small electronic devices

EDIT: To answer alibabbas question - 2 wires are involved

How many wires are you talking about, one, three or more than ten ?
If its allot, you will find, regardless of the standard of soldering, you will have intermittent trouble in the future with it.

    How about this ....

I edited my post to reflect how many wires as that's sensible info to put in. Thanks for the suggestion but my current player is 32gb and i really really like it so I'd like to keep it going if i can

Bring it into O'Connors on Sean Mulvoy Road, show it to them.
They def wont overcharge you for fixing it.

But ask for a technician when you call in, the girl at reception wont understand its a small job.

Bring it to the musical instrument place on Dominick street, can't think of the name. The guy there does soldering work on pickups for guitars, may be able to help you out.

I might be able to do it for you. Would need to have a look at the job needing done, but would be able to tell you straight off whether I would try it or not. I'm well used to soldering, but your job might require a specialist if it's very small work. I could also tell you this in seconds.
