Just got a quote from local company for letterbox for pvc sliding doors, 140 quid supply and fit. Thought that was really expensive. Anyone know if that is realistic price?

Letterbox itself is for under 10 quid + postage

    Couldn't you install it yourself?

Your'e being ripped off there. The price that a pvc company would pay for one of these would be between €10 & €15. You can buy one yourself. Most locksmiths or ironmongery companies would sell these to the public for around €25 & you would fit it in about 5 minutes. They are all a standard size so you don't need measurements etc.

    What Company? (If allowed)

That is a simply crazy price IMO.

You'd wonder how sone businesses are still trading going by this.

Thanks for that info - had a feeling it was unreal price. They're a Waterford pvc company beginning with c!! Obviously the recession is not doing anything to improve their customer service.
