Here's what they're looking for in retail:

Good with people so mention if he/she is in clubs/ voluntary work etc...
    good numeracy skills
basic computing (so she's not afraid of a cash register) just mentioning that she is good on coms will be fine

    and experience!! :p

People who work in BT need to be into Fashion. Not just, "i wear clothes" but be able to talk about the latest catwalk stuff if the role is to deal with the buying public.
I used to know someone in a similar role and they were on commission as well as basic, so they need to be able to demonstrate that they know what they're talking about.
    Bags and shoes and such.
Not my, erm, bag but each to their own.

PM me if you'd like some more details.
    Thanks,
    K

I worked in BT's, so have a few (hopefully) helpful pointers!

No. 1 (And I can't stress this enough) Customer Service! It is so so important! To earn Brownie (no pun intended!!) points meantion 5 star customer service! Customers are very important to BT!

No. 2 Know fashion. Be genuinely interested because they do ask questions about why you want to work with it. To say 'I like nice clothes' isn't enough, I would suggest they have a good look at their current stock and pick out favourite pieces! Mention them in the interview! Also, mention complimenting pieces i.e 'the floral DvF dress would look great with the Kurt Geiger's shoes'
In the CV, mention previous brands that they've worked with especially if they have them instore also.

No. 3 Link-selling is very important (Suggesting tights or shoes to match the €300 dress their about to buy)

I'll send you a copy of my CV, its not amazing, but it'll give you an idea.

Is the position for Christmas or is it a permanent position?

If they get an interview and are successful, they'll have a second 'Store Approval' interview, usually with the HR or/and Store Manager.
