Laptop for my sister

My sister is looking to get herself a laptop, now I'd normally recommend a Mac but she doesn't have a big budget so.

I want her to get a laptop that will be somewhat future proof so approx 3GB ram is a plus, XP or Windows 7...no Vista.
Budget is around 450

Looking to buy from a decent on-line seller such as komplett.ie or overclockers.co.uk but don't want to buy from dell.ie.

Brand wise I'm not too pushed, HP, Acer are fine but again not Dell (I really just dislike them)

It'll be used for just general office stuff but I still want the decent ram to future proof it

We had a lot of acers in our office that just died and suffered from serious screen issues. Dells seem to be suffering with serious hard drisk issues on the vostro range.

I can't find them anywhere on line to purchase. But I went to Harvey Norman and got a compaq for 450 with 250Gb and 2Gb of ram. It had Vista Home. But now comes with windows 7. And an Hdmi output. Seems to be going very good at the moment.
